Spirit · Simplicity · The natural world
What if the next step is learning to get out of our own way? José Stevens shares what ten years of apprenticeship taught him about spirit, simplicity, and listening to the living world.
“I’ve had to learn to simplify,
Dr. José Stevens · From the conversation ↗
simplify, simplify.”
There is more to the conversation
I’m a physician who believes our physical bodies are one part of a much larger human experience. Our emotions, relationships, spiritual lives, and the energy we feel in the world belong in the conversation, too.
The more I learn, the more I realize how much I still don’t know. That is what draws me to these conversations: the meeting place of scientific inquiry, ancient knowledge, and lived experience—and the questions that remain open.

The woman behind the conversations
I’m a naturopathic physician whose work brings together women’s health, botanical and functional medicine, and the physical experience of grief.
I’m drawn to the medicine we can study, and to the experiences that never quite fit on a lab report.
The energy you feel in someone’s presence. The sense of belonging you find among trees. The way a familiar scent, a meaningful ritual, or being deeply heard can change how a moment feels.
To me, healing is also a relationship—with the body, with nature, with one another, and with the parts of ourselves we are still learning to understand. Untold Medicine is where I explore that relationship, with science, traditional wisdom, intuition, and spirit all welcome.

Make a little ritual of it
Our listening ritual begins with a comfortable seat and a pair of wired headphones. Set your phone down, quiet the notifications, and take one unhurried breath.
Become attuned to your own energy and the conversation unfolding. Let it be the only thing asking for your attention. A little space to feel, to question, and to notice what stays with you.
